Managing a Shared Media Bank
IMS allows colleagues from throughout your organisation to access your image library. This saves time, and you will no longer need to rely on any one individual to locate images.
Collaborate with Shared Lightboxes
IMS Lightboxes allow you to keep all the media needed for a specific project in one place. As lightboxes can be saved and shared between people, IMS users can collaborate on projects with ease. Just drag-and-drop the required file into the lightbox and it is immediately available to everyone else who shares that lightbox. Read more...
Per-user Access Controls
The IMS permissions system allows you to assign files to users individually or in groups. If a user is not assigned a certain album, they cannot access the files that it contains. You might also want to ensure that your website designer can only use the low resolution images that are needed for websites, for example. Again, IMS allows such restrictions to be enforced very simply. Documentation...
Multiple Image Upload Accounts
To allow extra flexibility, IMS sites include the facility to set up an unlimited number of upload accounts, which can be allocated to your customers and colleagues directly. When new data is uploaded, IMS will alert and optionally trigger the upload for you, leaving the media in a convenient holding area if required.
Upload and Download Approvals
Not only can you control who can view a file in IMS but, if required, requesting administrator approval can be made a compulsory part of both the upload and download processes. Users simply give a reason for the upload or download and a nominated Administrator can then take a judgement on whether the request is appropriate for the stated purpose. Automated emails sent by IMS keep both parties up-to-date with progress, ensuring that the process is clearly communicated and efficient. Documentation for upload approvals / download requests.
User Groups To Simplify Administration
In a large company, the prospect of administering hundreds of users might sound daunting. IMS allows you to set up user groups, which are groups of individual user accounts which share common permissions and settings. In this way, you can have one set of permissions for a whole department. If your company already uses an Active Directory (LDAP) or OpenID server to manage users' accounts on other computing systems, IMS will integrate with that, too. Documentation...
Sign Up New Users Automatically
If you wish, IMS allows visitors to request an account and receive their login details automatically by email. This system can also be integrated with existing marketing-driven sign up forms, and is completely configurable if you need to collect any specifics from users before creating their account.
It is also possible to set up ublic Galleries and Events, which allow access to individual albums without logging in. Documentation...
Bulk edit users and permissions for easy updates
The primary aim of the IMS Administration interface is to make your interactions with the system as quick and simple as possible. To that end, it is possible to make simultaneous updates to some or all users, even if they are not grouped, which makes managing the Permissions system even easier.
Enterprise-grade password policy features
IMS allows you to require your users to change their passwords regularly and to set minimum levels for password quality. This process is fully PCI DSS compliant to make IMS a trouble-free addition to your existing computer systems. Documentation...
