Smart Folders

Smart Folders group pictures together automatically and adapt to new pictures or changes to your keywords. For example, IMS can maintain a folder which contains pictures that are related to a keyword, or contain a particular phrase in the caption. IMS can also group pictures by their date, filename or - better still - a combination of different conditions.

Anything that IMS can do with a search can be stored as a permanent collection of pictures in a Smart Folder. Smart Folders automatically update when keywords or captions change, or new images are uploaded. An interesting Smart Folder to try out would be one that limits the results to pictures from the last 7 days, using the 'Age' clause for example.

To create a Smart Folder, look for the blue folders on the Manage Albums page (these are Smart Folders). Click the green plus icon labeled "Create Smart Folder". Alternatively, after any advanced search, click the button labelled "Save as Smart Folder".
